Erica Kane

Erica Kane is a mother of five with degrees in Human Services and Psychology who has dedicated much of her life to working with children. Over the years, she has served as a teacher, coach, mentor, and after-school program leader while continually studying child development and children’s emotional well-being.

Through both her professional experience and her own family’s journey, Erica developed a passion for helping children—and the adults who love them—understand that every emotion has something to teach us. Rather than responding to difficult feelings with shame or fear, she believes they can become opportunities for curiosity, healing, and growth when met with love, wisdom, and understanding.

Inspired by her Christian faith, Bailey’s True Colors was written to encourage meaningful conversations that help children build emotional resilience from an early age, laying a foundation for healthier relationships, stronger character, and hope that lasts a lifetime.
